Annapolis was listed among the top 40 dog friendly cities in the U.S. by Dog Fancy magazine. The August 2010 issue estimates the dog population of the Annapolis area at 7,000, a number the SPCA helped Dog Fancy calculate. As the magazine listing mentions "All you need to feel at home here is a good boat, a good hat, and a good dog." We don't know about the boat and the hat, but we certainly agree about the dog (or cat!).
